How Snakes Learned to Curl

Long, long ago snakes could not curl. In fact, they were as stiff as steel sticks, and they did not slither the way modern day snakes did. In fact, they had grips on their skin that pulled them forward. However, one day, something extraordinary happened. A young girl snake named Viper bumped into a tree. She became what seemed hopelessly entangled on the trunk. Being young, she became scared and violently began to thrash. She pushed and pushed of the tree and the more she pushed the more she could bend, as her body soon became to curl and form a S shape. And soon she finally was freed. and she went home. She found it very odd because now, she could slither, and she no longer had to move in the stiff way that the other snakes did. When she went home, she immediately spread the news, and soon all the snakes decided that it was easier to slither than to do what they had formerly done. From that day on, Viper had changed snake-kind.

Stanley park Aquarium

I recently went to Stanley Park aquarium. I saw some lovely beluga whales; a family with a mother, father and baby. They were really majestic despite their really, really large size. After watching them, I felt inspired for the moment, so I made up a story. After that, I saw a living fossil. The animals name was : Coelacanth. It was sort of scary and creepy, but when I saw it, I really felt like I was part of history for a moment. Fossils are old and sometimes musty, but when looking at them, you definitely know that they are part of history.

Dr. Sun-Yat-Sen Garden

In Vancouver, I went to a classical Chinese garden called Dr. Sun Yat Sen Garden. As we strolled through the beautiful archways and Chinese architecture, we saw many gorgeous plant life, some flowers, some plainly leaves and trees. In addition to that, there were birds swimming in the small ponds filled with petals and of beautiful flowers. After inspecting the garden closely, I also saw some koi goldfishes darting around the swampy ponds.

I felt like I was really in nature, and I was seeing perfection. It made me think of Utopia. I really enjoyed it, but on the ride there, I felt kind of bad. Such a beautiful garden shouldn't be located in a bad neighborhood. The ride was almost scary. I didn't like bad neighborhoods, and I never will. However, I really enjoyed the natural scenery in the Chinese garden.

Miniature World

I recently visited Vancouver, Canada, because my mother had a job meeting there. Although I have absolutely no idea and no intention of knowing what the meeting was about, I really enjoyed the trip. One of the places I went to was called Miniature World. Such, a fitting name. The building was absolutely filled from top to bottom with little villages, scenes from history, simple people; all miniature. Furthermore, all these little displays were all really detailed. The people were wearing clothes, and the villages had lots of things from trees to houses to other buildings. It truly was one of the most exciting things about visiting Vancouver.

Deer: Mysterious?

Now your probably wondering why I wrote about deers. The fact that they are really common is probably plain knowledge to you. However, all though there are probably lots of deer, roaming the forests, grazing on soft grass, I've only seen deer three times in U.S.A. so far. I once read in a book about a girl who hadn't talked using her voice for a year. She questioned about deers. She wondered if maybe, just maybe, they had everyone fooled and they had developed their own way of communicating, maybe even a secret language. It's strange how you think you know something, but there are a million ways to look at something, even if you see it often.

My Zinias

Hey guess what???

My gorgeous, serene, brightly-colored flowers sprouted. My flowers are a type of Zinia, and I adore the gorgeous and lovely colors on the soft, petals. Although I definitely cannot take that much credit for making them grow, because when we got them, well, let's just say they weren't seeds. However, when I saw them bloom, I did really feel special. It was fun being part of nature. Even for a little while.

Gardening and Fruits??

I recently discovered two minute strawberries in my family's garden. It was very cute to see the two little buds, and I couldn't wait for them to turn red and ripe, even if there was no chance we would eat them. However, I'm sorry to say that one strawberry died. It eventually just shriveled away. But, apparently, the other strawberry still lives. Hurrah! Besides that, I also found some tomatoes. They, however, were still green, and definitely not ripe.
